Easter might not have the same movie buzz as Christmas, but I’ve put together a fun list of non-animated family easter movies to enjoy. To simplify things, I’ve categorized them into three groups: pictures for all ages, teen picks for 13 and older, and some charming Hallmark romances.

On the eve of the traditional Easter show, Nadine Hale announces to dance partner Don Hughes that she is leaving to build a solo career. Fighting despair, Don finds a new partner, with whom he prepares a performance for the next holiday. This movie will surely attract fans of American musicals, modest love stories, and the most charismatic actors of the fifties.

The movie shares the tale of the legendary biblical figure Moses, his birth, manhood, and the cult exodus of the Jews from Egypt. The Ten Commandments belongs to those great films that, like classic literature, will never become outdated, will not lose relevance, will not be forgotten, and will not cease to delight new generations and films that are unlikely to be remade with repeated success.

PG-13 movies.

The Greatest Story Ever Told, 1965

It is a film about the life of Jesus from the moment of the worship of the Magi until the crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension. It is a wonderful biblical story, filmed grandly and, most importantly, with soul. There is no falsehood in the performance of the then-young Max von Sydow – a sincere performance of the role of Jesus. If you want to watch historical Bible stories, The Greatest Story Ever Told is a good option for family viewing.

The Shack, 2017

The Shack is a thriller you would love to watch at home with friends. Mac Allen, who lost his daughter in a tragedy, receives several mysterious letters. He assumes that these letters are from God and that he can get his daughter back by visiting a place called the Shack. The authors of the movie try to say that God is near, knows our joys and sorrows, and is always ready to help. Just say, “Father.” The movie is excellent; it gives me goosebumps.

The film is a parable. A nine-year-old boy named Seamus is diagnosed with a serious illness. He goes on a journey in a small boat, and the boy tries to find Jesus before He takes him. In search of God, the boy meets a teenager, James, and a man wounded by a bullet, who he thinks is Jesus. These people, who have different worldviews, accidentally meet each other and gradually help each other heal their emotional wounds.

It is a love story that touches the heart deeply. The time comes, and the vows of fidelity and love, once spoken, are put to the test. John and his wife Helen, who genuinely love each other, face an illness that will either confirm their love or destroy their marriage. This tape is an irresistible story about the power of faith, hope, and love and will help you deeply understand the price and value of marital fidelity.

A quiet French town is in turmoil: a woman named Vianne has arrived. Friendly and always welcoming, she has a strong character and does not give in to the onslaught of condemnation. Despite the prohibition of Lent, she opens her shop with tempting chocolates and magically guesses customers’ wishes.

I already have a review for Chocolat movie.

Son of God, 2014

There are so many films about Jesus that it is difficult to remember how many have been made. I like this film because it is imbued with goodness, light, and boundless purity. Of all the actors I have ever seen, Diogo Morgado is the best actor for this role. Looking at him, you believe you are truly looking at the Son of God – a spiritual expression on his face, a sincere smile, kind eyes. Diogo managed to convey something unearthly, sublime. It is a pleasure to look at him.

Family-friendly Hallmark easter romance.
