The Secret Garden, 2020

Suddenly, Mary, an orphaned girl, is forced to move to her uncle’s mansion in England, which is shrouded in mystery. The rules strictly forbid leaving her room and wandering the corridors of the enormous house. But one day, she finds a mysterious door that takes her to an incredible place where every wish is granted—a secret garden.
The fairy tale turned out well. The house with 100 locked rooms and the abandoned garden look amazing and mysterious. From a visual point of view, The Secret Garden is perfect.
SpringBreakers, 2012

Four best friends have entered college and live in a boring dorm. But spring break is approaching, which means it’s time to think about how to have a great rest. To earn some extra money, the girls get involved with a highly dubious guy who sells drugs and weapons. Everything immediately turns upside down, and the company will not forget these spring breaks for a long time.
Who should I recommend this film to? Anyone who loves strange, unusual films with a specific social significance and an element of drama. In addition, Spring Breakers will appeal to those who want to see a cloyingly bright, loud, saturated with half-naked bodies film that will convince you that your uninteresting life is actually not so bad.
FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened, 2019

The FYRE music festival, held on a private island in the Bahamas in the spring, was supposed to be the most extraordinary and exclusive party in history. After watching a commercial featuring leading models, guests happily paid vast amounts of money for tickets. They prepared to have a blast on villas and yachts to the music of super-fashionable bands and DJs. Here is the story of the loudest failure in modern show business.
I thought the film was shot by an underground film crew for 30 minutes at most for the sake of hype, but I immersed myself for an hour and a half in a well-shot story about the most unsuccessful festival in history. Surprisingly, the story turned out not to be about scammers who deliberately committed a crime but about real professionals in their field who believed their liar leader.
Check out another tremendous documentary from Netflix – The Tinder Swindler review.
A League of Their Own, 1992

Jimmy Dugan used to play baseball in the Big League, but his glory days have passed. He was invited to coach the Women’s Baseball League, which was created in 1943 when all the men were at war.
In my opinion, this is one of the best films about sports. It is about natural sports competition, close-knit team spirit, friendly and sisterly affection, which sometimes can even be envied, small women’s feats and tricks, sincerity and determination, and most importantly, the game’s pleasure.
Sense and Sensibility, 1995

A screen adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel about the romantic experiences of two sisters – pragmatic Elinor and romantic Marianne
The film is terrific – emotional, touching, unhurried, and to some extent nostalgic. I don’t know about others, but I would have liked to live in those times. Have you noticed a trend? Austen’s heroines, except for Emma, are penniless; who manages to grab a rich husband in the finale? It’s no wonder that her books have always been popular. The story of the opposition of a sense of duty and passionate love is conveyed perfectly.
Dare to be Wild, 2015

Irishwoman Mary Reynolds went from an outsider to a winner and gold medalist at the Chelsea Flower Show.
Yesterday, washing dishes and looking at puddles and gray mountains of melting snow, I wanted to change the picture, rest my eyes and soul, and be happy for someone. Thanks to the Internet, I found this film that saved me from the blues. It is a stunning tape. Incredible landscapes are everywhere in the movie, from green Irish meadows to dry African valleys. It’s definitely worth watching. There is also a love story.
Tulips in Spring, 2016

Rose meets Tom Novak, a handsome flower broker, at her parents’ tulip farm. The girl discovers that her parents’ financial affairs are going badly, and they are considering selling the farm to a competitor. Rose tries to breed a new variety of tulips to present at a flower competition, hoping to achieve national recognition and save her parents’ business.
Hallmark films are always full of sun and color. They carry a charge of positivity, faith in miracles, and love. And what else do we need when we are waiting for spring?
This Beautiful Fantastic, 2016

Young girl Bella Brown suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder. She spends her days reading literature, trying to learn Irish, and dreams of writing a book for children. She ignores the neglected garden in a rented house, so it falls into a terrible state. Then the house owner sets her a condition – she must put the plants in order in a month; otherwise, she will be forced to move out.
I want to say right away that this is not a film that will not take your attention with flashy special effects or frankness. It’s the kind of movie that warms your heart and soul, leaving you with a lovely, uplifting feeling.
Big Fish, 2003

After his father’s death, his son tries to recreate his life in a series of legends and myths that he invents based on disparate facts.
Visually, the film resembles an old photo album that suddenly came to life and began to tell its stories. Each scene seems to be painted with watercolors—blurred edges, warm tones, and amazing lightness. The film has many lovely moments. Awe-inspiring is the episode where the hero waits for his beloved in a vast field completely covered with yellow daffodils, and he is in the middle. It is very beautiful. Thanks to Tim Burton for creating this fairy tale.
Bright Star, 2009

It is a sad and beautiful love story about the British poet John Keats and his muse, Fanny Brawne. Keats died of consumption at the age of 25. He had three romantic springs, which he spent in Fanny’s arms. Even with the heartbreaking romance, the movie is surprisingly light, cheerful, and vibrant.
The camerawork is the pearl of the film, as it seems that we are spying on the main characters from a window, from the grass, or comfortably settled in a chair by the fireplace. I don’t even mention the music! Like a flood, it fills all corners of the soul and makes you empathize with the characters even more. It is one of my favorite springtime movies!
Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter… and Spring, 2003

A pagoda house, installed on a raft, drifts quietly on the surface of a mountain lake. Two people live in it: an old priest and a boy, whom he teaches to understand nature, to pray to Buddha, empathy and compassion. Years pass, and the young novice grows up and falls in love with a girl who comes for treatment. The old monk warns about the dangers of lust, but the student escapes from the floating temple, only to return many years later. He, too, will become a monk and teach the boy. Seasons change, life goes on, and the wheel of Samsara turns, but no one can change it.
This film is Ki-Duk’s most stunning piece. Every frame feels like a standalone masterpiece, and every sound carries deep meaning.
Wicker Park, 2004

It is a romantic film set in the winter cold and spring thaw. Matthew once dated a girl named Lisa. He was sure that everything was perfect between them, but one day, the girl disappeared. After two years, he changed his job and succeeded; he has a fiancée. And at the most inopportune moment, it seems to him that Lisa has returned to the city. Maybe he will be able to fix everything and return the lost happiness.
It is a complex love detective story about the cruel destruction of other people’s lives under the influence of beautiful feelings. I recommend waiting it out on the sofa, hugging your loved one. It is one of the most powerful films about love that I have ever seen, and the final scene is superb.
At Eternity`s Gate, 2018

It is a biopic of Vincent van Gogh. The film tells us about the incredible talent to see, feel, and perceive this world.
The camerawork creates the effect of complete presence. You seem to be walking waist-deep in tall grass, falling to the ground, pressing your cheek, and seeing the world through the eyes of the hero-artist. The film captures spring beautifully, featuring that iconic picture with the blooming almond branches that Van Gogh gifted to Theo to celebrate the arrival of his son.
Little Forest: Winter/Spring, 2015

It is the story of a girl named Ichiko. Self-sufficient and uncompromising, she moves from a stuffy big city to a small town in the Tohoku region. Here, Ichiko tries to start a new life, enjoying and getting energy from real nature and its gifts. Thanks to seasonal vegetables and fruits, she learns to create delicious dishes. The film has two parts. The second part of Little Forest is with a summer and autumn menu.
It is a film recipe, not only for delicious food but also for the main character’s life. When you watch this movie, you want to go closer to nature in a forgotten village and help a girl named Ichiko plant potatoes or cook spaghetti with trout. Such simple simple things, but what a delicious film!
Hope Springs, 2012

The film’s main characters are a married couple who have been married for over 30 years and are trying to rekindle their fading relationship with the help of Dr. Feld, who deals with problems of family unions.
The plot is straightforward, relatively static, and generally predictable. But the movie gives you positive emotions, optimizes you, and lifts your spirits. The film can be a real find for married couples and families going through hard times.
The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone, 2003

Aging stage star Karen Stone, who has just failed in a role more suitable for a young woman, decides to take a vacation in Europe, but failures continue to haunt her. Her wealthy husband falls ill and dies on the way to Italy, but she still arrives in Rome. When the widow confesses to her friend that she wouldn’t mind some male companionship, she introduces her to a handsome young Italian. Karen falls in love with the young man with the most tragic consequences for herself…
This television drama is a remake of the 1961 film starring the charming Vivien Leigh. The image ended up being a classy and steamy tale of love for anyone who enjoys this kind of story. The actors played out different shades of “intoxication with feelings”: wild sensuality, disregard for conventions, acute jealousy, and complete devastation.
Emma, 2020

England, XIX century. 21-year-old provincial Emma Woodhouse is beautiful, rich, witty, and believes she understands people well. The girl decided she would never get married and leave her father alone. When her friend moves into her husband’s house due to her marriage, Emma finds herself a new companion – the orphan Harriet Smith – and now, using all her tricks, she tries to arrange a personal life for the girl.
The couple Anya Taylor-Joy and Johnny Flynn is a mega-victory of the film! The on-screen chemistry between the actors is unreal, magical, cosmic!!! I enjoyed their scenes together (the episode with Mr. Knightley’s confession is a BOMB)! The film is also imbued with the pastel tenderness of a spring breeze, the transparency of morning dew, and the mystery of imperceptibly blossoming buds.
